Chapter 183
Amara's eyes flew open in disbelief. Had she misheard Finnian just now? Did he really ask her to spend the night
with him?
"That's the only condition. Be at Vera Lodge, penthouse suite, by eight tonight. Spend the night with me, and
tomorrow morning we get the divorce. | keep my word," Finnian said.
With that, he left without caring about Amara's reaction. It wasn't until he disappeared that Amara snapped back
to the reality.
Spend the night with him? What did he mean by that? Was he implying they should sleep together?
Casting aside the reason of him having the request, she thought the mere proposal was too outrageous to
entertain. She couldn't possibly agree to that. She leapt out of bed, barefoot, and ran to catch him.
"Mr. Everly, we can't do this!" she exclaimed, her hand instinctively covering her stomach.
Not that she wanted to do anything intimate with Finnian, but even if she did, it wasn't possible. Not with a child
growing inside her.
Finnian's voice was icy as he declared, "If you don't show up, there's no divorce. I've made it clear, this is the

And with that, he brushed past her, leaving the apartment.
Amara stood there, her mind reeling for a prolonged while. It wasn't until her toes went numb out of coldness
that she gazed immediately down and realized she was still barefoot. She then hurried back to her room.
Back in bed, she twisted her fingers together, staring at the ceiling, her heart thundering in her chest. The
events of the day felt surreal, and if it wasn't for the brightness outside, she'd almost think she was still in a
dream.
A dream. Could Finnian have been delirious with fever when he made that outrageous demand?
No, Finnian had been perfectly lucid, not feverish at all.
Amara shook her head and continued with the contemplation. Even if he had uttered those words not because of
being delirious, he might have
spoken in a moment of madness and would regret it when he cto his senses.
Without hesitation, she jumped out of bed and dialed his number, hoping for clarity.
"Mr. Everly," she ventured cautiously, "is this a good tto talk?"
Finnian seemed to be driving, the sound of calming music in the background. His voice, low and lazy, came
through. "What is it? Want to ctonow already?"
Amara was rendered speechless.
What a scoundrel!
Amara cursed him silently and hung up.
She had assumed Finnian was muddled enough to bring up that request; turned out he was just as audacious as
ever.
She fell back onto the bed. It was
nearly nine in the morning, a tfor breakfast and diving into work. But with tonight's looming rendezvous, she
couldn't focus on anything else.
Her mind was a chaotic mess, and she needed someone to talk to. Who should
she call? Elysia, perhaps?
No, Elysia would be furious and likely confront Finnian directly.
Keith, then?
Absolutely not. Keith, being a guy, would explode at such news.
As she mulled over her predicament, she glanced at the clock. It was already close to ten.

intending to work on her script but her brain refused to cooperate. Not a single word made sense.
The day drifted by in a blur, her mind
elsewhere as she stared at the screen where not many lines about the script were created, until she noticed the
time. Seven in the evening.
Finnian had said eight o'clock. Yet here she was, unprepared, with no plan for
dinner, and utterly clueless about what to do next.
